He discusses Stokowski's transcriptions and interpretations; his approach to auditioning performers; his pioneering the performance of works by Cowell and Riegger; his interest in non-Western music and use of Javanese gongs in his recording of Mussorgsky's Boris Gudunov. He repeats an anecdote about Stokowski from Henry Cowell; mentions meeting Gloria Vanderbilt.
